Episode 147 Barry Hartman 505 Junk

Barry Hartman is the Co-Founder and CEO at 505-Junk. Since the company’s inception in June of 2011, Hartman, along with business partner Scott Foran and their outstanding staff, have focused on reducing waste at local landfills and donating reusable goods to local charities. 505-Junk’s mission is to have a significant positive impact on their clients, the environment, and the communities that they serve. 505-Junk will be launching their first three franchisees this year and plans to grow across North America.
Hartman was selected as a Canadian delegate at the G20 Young Entrepreneur Alliance Summit in Istanbul, Turkey and is very passionate about youth entrepreneurship. Hartman and Foran are honoured to have won several entrepreneurial, innovation and community-based awards. The company has been featured in many magazines, newspapers, and television shows including CTV’s Steele on Your Side, Breakfast Television, the National Post, the Vancouver Province, and more. While studying at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Richmond, Hartman was a professional snowboarder and travelled throughout North and South America as a brand ambassador for a variety of sponsors.

Episode 146 Sean Aiken – One Week Job

Sean Aiken is the creator of The One Week Job Project – an inspiring journey across North America in which he worked 52 jobs in 52 weeks to find his passion. He trekked more than 46,000 miles, slept on 55 couches, raised over $20,000 for charity, and tried every job he could: Bungee Instructor, Dairy Farmer, Advertising Executive, Baker, NHL Mascot, Stock Trader, Firefighter, and more.  Sean’s been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, TIME, Globe & Mail, on CNN, 20/20, The Rachael Ray Show, Good Morning America, MTV, and countless other media outlets around the world. His book, The One Week Job Project, is published by Penguin Random House, while the feature length award-winning documentary premiered on CBC. Due to fan interest around the world, Sean has since developed One Week Job projects in the UK, USA, Australia, India, and Vietnam.
